No one say anything... I know that all of you were really on pins and needles waiting for my next post.
I changed sales positions and am working at FedEx as a sales rep. I manage Charlotte and Winston Salem, NC. It is a hectic, busy, and at time mindless job. I am enjoying it for the time, but miss the mortgage industry.
Heather is pregnant with our son, who is due in 5 weeks!! We are naming him Lexton Wesley... my grandfather's name was Lex, so we just piggy backed off of that. Christmas came and Adalyn was all about "Ho Ho".... until she had to sit in his lap, then she was pretty much over him. Of course, the experience in her mind was a pleasant one, because she bragged about that picture to anyone who would listen. We rang in the new year, celebrated Heather's birthday, and watched as Bush left office and President Obama was sworn in.
Well, I just fell asleep at the computer... stay tune for the next episode. Same Bat time, Same Bat station...

Change is good...
It's been a while...
So, I am leaving my current job as a mortgage lender. Yep... moving over to Inside sales at FedEx. Basically I will manage a territory and cross sell FedEx services to clients in that territory. After praying for 4 months and discussing it with my wife, family, and friends until I got sick of it, I made the decision.
***MY WIFE JUST YELLED AT ME FROM THE LIVING ROOM AND SAID OLE MISS IS GETTING THEIR BUTTS HANDED TO THEM IN THE NIT TOURNAMENT. Bummer.***
In other news, the Adda is crawling, climbing, taking steps, waving, and being her adorable self. She is 8 months now and is loving it. So independent... and sleeping through the night... EVERY NIGHT. Man, I hope I didn't just jinx it.
GO TIGERS GO!!!

The new wheels...

Yea, so the wife talked me into getting this new Honda Accord. We actually got a really good deal... it was a demo, so it had like 4k miles on it. So, I got an 08 Honda Accord and am paying right at the same as I was on the 05 Civic. Not a bad deal... at all... probably the best car deal in a while. Seriously.
Adalyn is finally starting to show signs that she is getting past the sickness that was passed to her by good ole' dad. Is it just me, or is there a new reason every month for a kid to go to the doctor? Do those doctor visits only come with new parent worries, or do parents of more than one kid also make frequent trips to the pediatrician. Just wondering.

It's good to be # 1...
This is a great time for me to be a sport's fan...
Memphis is ranked # 1 and knocking down contenders left and right (although the UTEP game I went too was a little too close)...
Eli is sporting a nice new super bowl ring...
Bob Knight is once again making getting his name out there...

Click on the question mark... I don't know why it won't show an image...
So.... I was talking to Dean on the phone tonight and my godson Landon, who is 18 months old, got on the phone and began talking to me in the usual chinese jibber I can't understand and I realized something. Adalyn is going to be talking really soon... WHAT AM I GOING TO DO???? Her mother already talks my ear off.. what will I do with two of them?
Actually, I can't wait to hear her say the words "I love you Daddy." I am sure it will make up for all of the other stuff I won't enjoy hearing.
The dad's birthday was today... he turned 53. We are having a party for him this Saturday at my sister's.. .but we had him and my grandfather over for chicken tonight... and my brother came too. I walked him through how to file his taxes... I really need to set up a side business to file people's taxes. I usually help a handful of people do it each year anyways.
I need to figure out what to do for Heather on valentine's day. We are going to Ruth Chris the Saturday night after that with our usual monthly dinner club. (It's actually just Heather & Me, Dean & Carrie) It's a monthly thing we do where we go out to eat at a nice restaurant with no kids. But, I still need to come up with something for valentine's evening... we will have Adalyn at home that night, so I need to get creative... hmm...

Sicillian, Mucinex D... and the Superbowl
In an effort to avoid having to listen to my wife tell me that I complain too much when I am sick, I took medicine for this cold/sinus infection/bronchitis that I have been fighting with. It had all but taken the victory... that was until today. Yes, my friends, I found my secret weapon...

Where have you been my whole life????
We ordered the Sicillian tonight from Italia's tonight and delivered it to the other half of our motley crew... Holcomb Haven. It was the end to a day filled with work, coughing, and Service Master working their magic in our house. Clean carpet and tile... hey, I figure I'd give the wife off this weekend. Actually, we split household chores up pretty evenly around here. I HATE laundry... I'd rather wear dirty clothes than fold clean ones. This week however, with me being sick and Heather being tired, I figured Service Master could come and do their thing... and they did it quite well.
Back to the Sicillian... this is a man's pizza. 4 meats, green peppers, mushrooms, black olives and onions. We decided to indulge, being that we are both really close to our weight loss goal that we set back in November. Well, Heather reached her goal a while back, and I am getting closer to mine. We took our indulgence over the Dean and Carries. The motley crew (the four of us, and our kids) enjoyed it and contemplated on why crazy people have to tell another adult how to administer cough medicine to a child... and why that crazy person explained it by telling us that "Nothing when there is a cough, give it when there isn't one... no bike riding." Thank you Ms. Spears.
Superbowl: being an Ole Miss alum I can't rightly root against Eli and the Giants. 12 point spread though... the Patriots will take it more than likely. Let's hold out hope for the underdog...
Later.

It starts...
That's the family to the left.. I'm the guy with the goofy haircut. The great looking brunette is Heather, and that's Adalyn crashed out. Yep... that the fam. I'm not sure which direction this blog will go in. I will probably ramble on without anyone's knowledge of said rambling. A little about myself...
I'm a practical guy. I am content with what I have, but not with who I am. I continue to learn, grow, etc. Success is something that I feel is an ongoing thing for everyone. It's about growth and development. Once you achieve one thing, you use it as a stepping stone to achieve something else.
I belong outdoors. Hiking, on a lake, at the ocean, fishing... outdoors. Some of the best moments have been taking walks with the wife. We have a dog, Lyla. She is a mutt really, but we keep her around. She entertains us, if nothing else. Back to the outdoors... I love to go camping. Hopefully we will get a chance to go this spring.
Holy crap... it's 11pm. The monkey, aka Adalyn Faith, is peacefully sleeping in her crib (for now); the wife is snoring; the dog is crashed out on her bed dreaming really loud; I need to be asleep. I have to be up in the AM for another day of making my customer's dreams come true... doesn't everyone dream of a really great mortgage???
Later folks...
edit: Just as I wrote the last line Ms. Adalyn decided she needed her dad to come and visit her in crib land. Pacifier back in mouth, bunny at her side... time to hit the sack.
